What is an MMC?

An MMC — a M.E.E.T. Management Company — is one accountable partner for the entire way an organization meets, travels, gathers, connects, and rewards its people. It brings corporate travel, meetings & events, hotel sourcing, group & sports travel, and incentive & recognition under a single team. Meet Us is the first MMC.

The short answer

The department your organization never built.

Companies have a CFO for finance, a CMO for marketing, and a CHRO for people. But who owns how the whole organization meets, travels, and connects? For most, the answer is “no one” — it’s spread across five vendors and a few overworked assistants. An MMC is that missing department, delivered as an extension of your team. You focus on the business; the MMC manages every logistic behind how your people come together.

How An MMC Compares

MMC vs. travel agency vs. TMC vs. DMC

The travel and events industry is full of acronyms. Here is how an MMC fits — and what makes it different.

If you’re stitching together three or four vendors to do what one accountable partner could own, you might not need another vendor. You might need an MMC.

Do You Need One?

Signs it’s time to hire an MMC

Your best people are planning travel

Executive assistants, chiefs of staff, and ops leaders are spending hours on hotel blocks, itineraries, and rebookings — work they weren’t hired to do.

You have no single owner

Travel, meetings, contracts, and recognition each live with a different person or vendor, and no one sees the whole picture or the whole spend.

You’re leaving leverage on the table

Booking piecemeal means you never build the volume that unlocks better airfare, hotel rates, and room-block concessions.

Risk keeps you up at night

When a trip goes sideways or a VIP is stranded at 2 a.m., there’s no 24/7 team accountable for making it right.

Your events feel disconnected

Meetings, group travel, and incentive trips are run by separate hands, so the experience — and the brand — is inconsistent.

You want enterprise muscle, boutique feel

You need the leverage and reporting of a big program but the personal service of a partner who knows your travelers by name.

Why We Created It

We didn’t find the category. We built it.

We kept watching capable organizations juggle a different vendor for every trip and every event — paying more, carrying more risk, and getting a worse experience for it. There was a name for a company that books travel (a TMC), and one for a company that runs a destination (a DMC), but no name for a partner that owns the whole way an organization comes together. So we built that department and named the category: the M.E.E.T. Management Company. Meet Us is the first MMC — and the standard others will be measured against.

FAQ

MMC, explained

What does MMC stand for?

MMC stands for M.E.E.T. Management Company — Meet, Event, Experience, Travel. It’s a category of company that manages the entire way an organization meets, travels, gathers, and connects under one accountable team. Meet Us created and coined the category.

How is an MMC different from a TMC?

A TMC (travel management company) manages a company’s business travel. An MMC manages travel plus meetings & events, hotel sourcing, group & sports travel, and incentive & recognition — the complete program, not just the flights and hotels.

How is an MMC different from a DMC?

A DMC (destination management company) runs event logistics in one specific destination. An MMC manages your organization’s entire meeting and travel program wherever it happens — across every city, event, and trip.

What services does an MMC provide?

Five core pillars: corporate travel, meetings & events, hotel sourcing, group & sports travel, and incentive & recognition — delivered by one team, with one point of contact and one invoice.

Who should hire an MMC?

Organizations whose people are spending too much time coordinating travel and events, who have no single owner for those functions, and who want enterprise buying power with boutique, white-glove service. Executive assistants, chiefs of staff, and operations leaders benefit most.

Who is the first MMC?

Meet Us. We defined the M.E.E.T. Management Company category and operate as the first one — serving clients across the United States.
